leading cause of death worldwide. Internationally, deaths each year from cancer greatly outnumber deaths from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. By 2040, the global cancer burden is expected to increase to 29.5 million new cases and 16.4 million deaths annually.
